Technical Bulletin 2006.06.15:   The Different PTW Models
Many users have asked us about the exact differences of the various PTW models, and we figure we will take the chance and explain it here.

1. The M4 and M16 Families
The M4 family basically consists of two models:  M4A1 and M4A1-CQBR.  The external appearance of both weapons are the same except the barrel:  M4A1 replicates the standard military-issue 14.5 inch barrel, whereas our CQBR is the equivalent of the 10 inch short barrel version.  Both version are available in our very popular "MAX" variant, and the M4 has a 3-shot burst optional trigger group.
The M16 family also consists of two models:  M16A2 and M16A3.  Their model designation follows the U.S. military issued rifle designations (not civilian models sometimes used by other firearm manufacturers), where the A2 means integrated carrying handle with 3-shot burst trigger group and A3 means removable carrying handle ("flat-top receiver") and full auto trigger group.  However, based on popular demands we have also made available additional "optional trigger groups" for both the A2 and A3.  Although technically these "optional trigger groups" no longer follow the military designation correctly, it nonetheless allows the user to customize their weapon to their heart's content.
Finally, both the M4 and M16 family rifles consist of "semi-only" version that is specifically designed for countries where full-auto airsoft guns are considered firearm and would be illegal for civilians to purchase.  Thus, as you can see the many different models could be confusing at times.  Therefore, we hope the following chat will  give you a good idea of all the currently available model, and their trigger group / velocity arrangements.

  * All non-MAX PTWs can be easily "upgraded" to higher velocity by simply exchanging its cylinder unit.  non-MAX (aka Gen-3) PTWs are compatible with up to M130 cylinder units (e.g. M90, M110, and M130).
** All MAX-variant PTWs are backward compatible with all other cylinder units, if the situation calls for the user can quickly decrease the muzzle velocity by simply exchanging its cylinder unit.  Currently available cylinders for MAXs are:  M90, M110, M130, and M150.
*** The NM4A1-CQBR-MAX2 is the only MAX variant that comes with M90 cylinder instead of M150 cylinder based on user requests.  Particularly, if the user wishes to have the extended durability of the MAX variants but would still be using the weapon in close quarter, the extreme velocity would be too dangerous thus M90 cylinder unit is substituted.  Of cause in the future it can be upgraded back to higher velocity, including M150 cylinders, by simply purchasing a cylinder unit and perform the same simple exchange.
